As well as sell-out tours and hit albums, Alexandra as hiked to Machu Picchu for charity and launched a clothing label. At corporate shows she performs to tracks with dancers, combining her own hits Hallelujah, Bad Boys and Start Without You with her covers of Britney Spears and Whitney Houston.


Biography

Alexandra Burke was winner of 2008’s X Factor, beating JLS into second place. Her debut single, ‘Hallelujah’ sold over 100,000 copies in one day, making it the fasting selling single in a 24 hour period in the UK.

Alexandra’s debut album, Overcome entered the charts at number one. The album sold over 4 million records in the UK alone and earned Alexander four consecutive number one hits.

After performing with Beyonce at the X Factor final, Burke was asked to join the songstress on the UK leg of her European tour. Burke’s own All Night Long Tour followed her album success and she played to sell-out audiences all over the UK.

Alexander is a keen fundraiser, she sang on the Haiti charity single, Everybody Hurts to raise funds for suffers of the 2010 earthquake. She also took part in a Breast Cancer Care trek to Machu Picchu with Denise Van Outen and Fearne Cotton.

Alexandra’s live shows see her performing a selection of her number one hits, Bad Boys and Hallelujah, along with Britney and Whitney Houston covers.

Looking Ahead to International Women’s Day

We were joined by four fantastic speakers to look ahead at International Women’s Day. With the theme of this year’s event being #InspireInclusion, we were lucky enough to hear from four women who have each blazed a trail in their respective fields: CEO of Channel 4, Alex Mahon; the former Australian Prime Minister and Chair of Kings’ Global Institute of Women’s Leadership, Julia Gillard; one of the leading voices in football, Eniola Aluko MBE; and broadcaster and journalist, Samira Ahmed.
