Kate Bellingham

Originally an electronics engineer specialising in computing, Kate began her broadcast career on Tomorrow's World. Her engineering background, her degree in physics from Oxford University and her experience as a computer programmer came in useful during her four years as a presenter on the flagship science and technology programme.

Kate has since presented a weekly show on Radio 5 Live as well as a series on engineering for the BBC Learning Zone. She has also worked on educational programmes for the Open University and BBC Schools and presented Testing Times - examining the challenges faced on major infrastructure projects.

Having already served as President of Young Engineers and the national network of school and college clubs, Kate also sits on an advisory board of the Institute of Electrical Engineers and is a Patron of WISE - Women into Science, Engineering and Construction. She was awarded a 'Women of Outstanding Achievement Award' for Communicating Science, Engineering and Technology to Society by the UKRC.

Her most recent broadcasting work has been co-presenting the BBC2 series entitled 'The Museum of Life,' about the work that goes on behind the scenes at the Natural History Museum in London.
