Jasper Carrott made his stage debut as MC and resident singer at his own folk club, The Boggery, in Solihull. He discovered a talent for comedy, and went on to become a household name entertainer.
Jasper's first comedy record. Funky Moped, sold over half a million copies - despite the fact that the b-side, a parody of Magic Roundabout, was banned by the BBC. His first TV series, An Audience with Jasper Carrott, was followed by a record-breaking one hundred date concert tour. Jasper was then named ITV Personality of the Year.
Credits include Carrott's Commercial Breakdown, One Jasper Carrott and Carrott's Lib, which won a BAFTA. He also teamed up with Robert Powell on The Detectives, based on the antics of two bungling sleuths.
More recently, Jasper starred opposite Meera Syal and Nina Wadia in the multi-cultural sitcom, All About Me. He has also hosted the game show Golden Balls.
Jasper is a proud winner of the Midlander of the Year title, and was no less delighted to be inducted (after Ozzy Osbourne) into Birmingham's 'Walk of Stars'. In his spare time, he is a fanatical golfer.
