BIOGRAPHY
Claudia Winkleman is the host of Film 2011, and presenter of Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two. She also pops up when there's a party to host (like at the end of Beijing 2008), and has been known to appear as a panellist on Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Have I Got News For You.
After graduating from Cambridge, Claudia became a fashion editor for Tatler, where she also wrote columns on motoring and nutrition. She has since contributed to Vogue, The Sunday Times and The Independent.
Claudia has fronted Oscars' coverage for Sky, co-hosted Comic Relief does Fame Academy and the Eurovision Dance Contest. She has also presented The House of Tiny Tearaways, and the BBC writing challenge in which members of the public completed stories started by some of the country's best known authors.

Know your audience and what will appeal to them, and ensure the presenter suits the format of your event. Find out whether they have worked in the venue before and what events they have done and check they will attend a rehearsal. Don't just rely on the 'name' of your presenter - they need to be able to do the job.
Working closely with an agency that can give you honest feedback about an act is vital - they can tell you if someone has fallen flat on their face or give glowing feedback from other clients.
