Charlie Baker

Fee Band

Charlie jumped from warming-up for Jonathan Ross to guesting on Never Mind The Buzzcocks and team captain duties on A Short History of Everything Else. He’s been hailed by The Guardian as a ‘hyperactive funnyman’ – and ‘Devon’s answer to Frank Sinatra.’ He offers his own West Country interpretation.

Biography

Charlie’s versatile talents as a comedian have seen him appear on shows such as Richard Osman’s House of Games, The Last Leg, Harry Hill’s Tea Time, The Great British Bake-Off and Never Mind the Buzzcocks. He won BBC One’s Let's Dance for Comic Relief and is s a trained tap dancer.

As an actor he has appeared in Miranda, Dr Who and The IT Crowd. He was also a member of the National Youth Theatre and has sung with renown jazz bands The Syd Lawrence Orchestra and The Ted Heath Big Band.

Charlie is also an accomplished singer and musician and starred in the lead role of Harry Hill’s Tony! [The Tony Blair Rock Opera]. On stage Charlie specialises in no-nonsense, well-written jokes and puns with no aim other than to entertain, shunning the political or the philosophical that many contemporaries strive for.

An avid sports fan, Charlie can regularly be heard on talkSPORT on Game Day Warm Up, as well as covering for Hawksbee & Jacobs. He also co-hosts the podcast The National Obsession with talkSPORT’s John Cadigan, which celebrates all that is good about football’s National League.
