Biography

Jonathan Dimbleby is one of Britain's most respected broadcasters. After stepping down as presenter of ITV's flagship current affairs programme, he continues to chair Any Questions, BBC Radio 4’s round-table political debate programme.

Jonathan started in local radio before moving to The World At One. He then joined This Week and made a series of films in South America before returning to the BBC to launch On The Record. He also became synonymous with ITV’s general election coverage, anchoring it in 1997, 2001 and 2005.

An acclaimed factual film and documentary maker, Jonathan presented and produced an influential portrait of the private and public life of Prince Charles. He also made The Last Governor, chronicling the end of British rule in Hong Kong. He followed up with a series and book on Russia, covering an epic journey across a continent transformed since the end of the Cold War. His most recent work, again a book and TV series, focused on the build up to the famed desert battle of El Alamein.

A one-time organic farmer, Jonathan Dimbleby is former President of the Soil Association and Vice President of the Council for the Protection of Rural England. He is also Chair of Dimbleby Cancer Care.
