BIOGRAPHY
Lucian Tarnowski was voted 'Global Enterprising Young Brit' and is the founder and CEO of career networking site BraveNewTalent.com. He is also the youngest member of UKTI's Global Entrepreneur Programme - with the government department describing his business as a 'technology company of exceptional potential.' He has also published his first book (and the first ever to use Google Wave): Flipping The Model.
Lucian's brilliant idea is a candidate-driven website that aims to revolutionise the recruitment business. Turning the traditional top-down process on its head, it allows users to follow target employers and receive relevant updates from across the web by creating a dedicated profile on Facebook Connect. It has immediately been recognised as a cost effective and efficient talent pipeline, perfectly suited to the needs of Generation Y.
Tarnowski is also one of the driving forces behind One Young World. Using social media to mobilise support, the object is to bring together 1500 people from the world's 192 countries to attend a youth leadership summit: 'Davos for 25 year olds.'
Speaking to conference audiences across Europe and Asia, Lucian examines the phenomenal changes young people are imposing on how we work, live and communicate. He characterises Generation Y as the first to combine changing expectations, instinctive technological know-how and loyalty to skill, not employer.
Lucian has offices in London and Mumbai, and serves on the board of the UK India Business Council. He has also joined the 'Yunus Brain Pool.' Led by Muhammad Yunus, Nobel Prize winner and founder of Grameen Bank, this is a group of 30 young leaders who through their ideas and creativity support the development of socially responsible business.
