BIOGRAPHY
For ten years, Loyd Grossman presented the award-winning MasterChef - the most popular show of its kind in British television history. He is now best known for his range of sauces, produced by Premier Foods, which enjoy annual sales of over £50 million.
Loyd's other TV credits include three series of Behind the Headlines; Through the Keyhole, which he devised and co-presented with David Frost; and Off Your Trolley, a look at the phenomenon of the supermarket which he followed up with a ten-part history of food, The World on a Plate.
Before coming to television Loyd was a contributing editor for the Sunday Times and restaurant critic for Harpers & Queen, following in the footsteps of the late Clement Freud and Humphrey Lyttleton.
During the Blair years Loyd was chosen by the Health Secretary to chair a committee recommending improvements in hospital food. He also spearheaded the creation of The 24 Hour Museum, an internet gateway linking museums, galleries and heritage centres for the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
Loyd Grossman is a Governor of the London School of Economics, a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland and Chairman of the Campaign for Museums.
