BIOGRAPHY
Jeremy Rifkin is one of America's most influential voices on the impact of scientific and technological change on the economy, the environment and society. In particular, he and his team consult with corporations to address the twin challenges of climate change and energy security.
Rifkin has testified before several Congressional committees and brought successful litigation shaping US government policies. He has also advised many EU institutions and heads of state, including Angela Merkel and President Zapatero, on sustainable development.
Presentation themes extend from the need to deepen the global economy to embrace the 60% of people currently excluded, to the major challenge of how to harness both bio- and nanotechnology in a way that advances the process. He sees green energy as the basis of the third Industrial Revolution.
Jeremy Rifkin is the author of more than a dozen books including The End of Work, The Hydrogen Economy, The Age of Access and The Biotech Century.
