A (M)Adman at the Court of St James: selling Britain to the world.
BIOGRAPHY
Andrew's first career was in international advertising, as Director of Business Development for Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide, and CEO Europe at Dentsu. He then changed tack and served for six years as head of Invest UK - charged with marketing Britain to international investors.
During his time at the government agency, our stock of foreign direct investment more than doubled. Since his departure in 2000 Andrew has been called upon to advise a number of other governments on economic development in general, and FDI in particular. He continues to serve as Senior Advisor to Mitsubishi, developing strategy in Europe, India and China.
A regular speaker at London Business School and the LSE, Andrew's presentations address the business and political challenges posed by globalisation. How can the UK compete in a multi-polar world recovering from recession? What should we expect in an Asian 21st century?
As well as the Council of Chatham House (Royal Institute of International Affairs), the Board of Think London and the Japan Society, Andrew also sits on the trust responsible for maintaining Shakespeare's Globe.
