Anthony has won the World Economic Forum’s most prestigious press award. He offers an instant analysis of the indicators, and the challenges facing business leaders. In 2014 he sees consumer confidence return, but the City choked by regulatory austerity; Europe’s problems are more with priorities than productivity; and China’s growth can’t be sustained because they lack the collaborative institutions and infrastructure common to all wealthy economies.
Anthony Hilton was Financial Editor of the Evening Standard and now serves as the paper’s Senior Commentator, and has the same role at The Independent. An author, broadcaster, lecturer, and a Wincott Financial Journalist of the Year. Anthony has also served as a non-executive Director of insurance and publishing companies.
Joining Fleet Street as a trainee on the Guardian, Anthony served in New York as Business Correspondent for the London Sunday Times and City Editor of The Times before joining the Standard.
Anthony makes regular television and radio appearances, commenting on the international money markets and the state of the economy. He also assesses the outlook for investments, the pensions crisis and corporate governance.
