BIOGRAPHY
At the forefront of the 'chapist' movement, Mr B is on a one-gent mission to connect hip-hop and its ilk to good manners and the Queen's English.
Combining an impressive knowledge of hip-hop, house and other frightfully modern musical styles, Mr B imposes the lifestyle and rules of linguistic refinement and etiquette on what are often more rough-and-ready lyrics.
Armed with banjolele, pipe and smoking jacket Mr B tackles rave classics from The Shamen, The Prodigy and Reel 2 Reel making their frenetic stylings altogether more palatable. He also reinvents such hip-hop tracks as NWA's Straight Outta Compton (Straight Out Of Surrey - in which Mr B summaries some cricketing terms), and DJ Kool's Let Me Clear My Throat (Let Me Smoke My Pipe), and runs through an impressive review of the history of all of hip-hop recounted in Received Pronunciation in his YouTube hit Chap-Hop History.
Mr B has, of course, played all around Blighty and even ventured onto the continent with shows at Glastonbury, clubNME in Paris, Oslo and the Edinburgh Fringe. His albums Flattery Not Included and I Say! have proved frightfully popular, as have his YouTube videos which have garnered over a million viewings.
