Former Global Chief Economist at John Hancock/Manulife Asset Management, Megan is an expert in economic data analysis, gauging the health of the global economy and identifying potential inflection points in the markets and the macro environment. Having cut her teeth as an economist successfully forecasting the crises in Greece and Ireland and their potential to fuel a wider eurozone debt crisis, Megan is now the Global Chief Economist at Kroll, and advises central banks and governments around the world and conducts research into economic theory, reality and how the gap between the two sustains inequality.


Biography

Megan Greene is the Global Chief Economist at Kroll, a US private investigations and financial advisory firm, and is on the Bank of England’s interest rate-setting Monetary Policy Committee. She is also a Senior Fellow at the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs at Brown University, is on the Economic Advisory Panel at the San Francisco Federal Reserve and an associate fellow at Chatham House.

Megan is a Contributing Editor and regular columnist at the Financial Times, writing on global macroeconomics and policy. She is also an advisory board member for the Parliamentary Budget Office in Ireland, Rebuilding Macroeconomics and Econofact, and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Bretton Woods Committee. She regularly advises governments and central banks in the US, UK, eurozone, and Japan.

Previously, Megan was a Senior Fellow at the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government at Harvard Kennedy School and Global Chief Economist at John Hancock Asset Management.

Renowned for her accurate, early economic predictions, Megan examines the intersection of macroeconomics, financial markets and politic, providing illuminating insights and forecasts for the future of the global geoeconomic and geopolitical landscape. Simplifying complex economic concepts into plain English, she combines her extensive background in policy, academia, finance, and the corporate sector.

Looking Ahead to International Women’s Day

We were joined by four fantastic speakers to look ahead at International Women’s Day. With the theme of this year’s event being #InspireInclusion, we were lucky enough to hear from four women who have each blazed a trail in their respective fields: CEO of Channel 4, Alex Mahon; the former Australian Prime Minister and Chair of Kings’ Global Institute of Women’s Leadership, Julia Gillard; one of the leading voices in football, Eniola Aluko MBE; and broadcaster and journalist, Samira Ahmed.
