BIOGRAPHY
An actor, presenter, writer and all-round adventurer, Peter Duncan attracted as much admiration for his work as Chief Scout as he does for a TV, film and theatre career that spans four decades. A self-confessed action addict, he is equally comfortable talking to the Queen as he is climbing towards Mount Everest with a bunch of kids.
Peter's daredevil approach to life first came to the public's attention when he joined the Blue Peter team. He wore the 'action man' label with pride - running in the first London Marathon, fighting a Japanese sumo wrestler and crossing the Irish Sea in a VW beetle. He was voted the third most popular man on television.
Leaving Blue Peter he capitalised on his derring-do image in Duncan Dares. He then produced and directed Travel Bug for CBBC in which his entire family backpacked their way around the world. Other TV credits include the slapstick comedy series Demolition Dad and Channel 4's The Games - in which he was the oldest competitor to take part.
Peter tells his story in typically animated style after dinner and in his one-man show, Daft and Dangerous. He recalls the early days at the National Theatre and his many mad adventures - but scotches rumours about starring roles in adult movies.
