BIOGRAPHY
The former BBC Sports Editor is enjoying a rich and varied career. Aside from his onscreen duties he has so far written 24 books on a wide range of themes, from The History of Indian Cricket to the first comprehensive account of Bollywood. He is also, surprisingly, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Mihir has written for all the major papers including the Sunday Times and the Daily Telegraph, where he launched the Inside Sports column. He examined the growth of sport as a worldwide business as well as covering all the major events including the World Cup and Olympic Games. He has also written for the editorial pages on immigration, cultural and religious clashes.
Mihir's BBC position reflects the fact that sport generates news stories like any other business. His role is to cover the whole range of stories across all sports, from football bungs to 2012 controversies, for all BBC outlets - television, radio and online.
Mihir Bose has won several awards including Business Columnist of the Year, Sports Reporter of the Year and Sports Story of the Year. He also served on the Budd Committee which reported to the Home Office and provided the basis for the new UK gambling legislation.
